On the 22 – 23 April 2026, two representatives from the Environmental Innovation and Greening Directorate (EIGD) within the Ministry for Gozo and Planning attended the 3rd Gathering of the Green Living Areas Thematic Community in Athens, where they represented the ReMED project.
The event marked an important step as the Mission entered the second half of its implementation phase, with increased focus on the transfer of project solutions and their integration into policy frameworks.
The programme was held over two days. The first day focused on the thematic projects, during which an EIGD representative presented the main outputs of the ReMED project, including tested solutions and key achievements. The second day centred on bridging the gap between project innovation and formal policy development, with the aim of ensuring that validated solutions are incorporated into long-term territorial strategies.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity to identify synergies and joint transfer opportunities between projects, and to establish connections with potential new partners for the ReMED project’s transfer phase, following the project’s pre-selection for this stage.
Overall, the 3rd Gathering marked a significant milestone for the Green Living Areas Thematic Community, signalling a shift from collaboration and experimentation towards consolidation, policy integration, and lasting impact across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
